Housing first

The Housing First Program centers on first moving people experiencing homelessness into independent and permanent housing and then providing additional supports and services such as physical and mental health, education, employment, substance abuse and community connections. Housing First is rooted in the philosophy that all people deserve housing and that safe adequate housing is a necessary factor in successful recovery.

HOMES Program

The HOMES Program is a community partnership initiative that provides supportive housing for adults who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. This program provides rent supplement housing with dedicated supports throughout the Region of Halton.



Summit is the lead agency in a partnership with Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, ADAPT, Support and Housing Halton and the North Halton Mental Health Clinic providing support.
